Lets Rock Ring Back Tone !!
Before Ring Back Tone (RBT) created by operator, we’re maybe bored waiting our destination ( called party ) pick up his phone. We just hear voice : tut tut tuuut.. ah dear !
After Operator GSM / CDMA make one of VAS ( Value Added Services ) which I say mandatory. That is Ring Back Tone !!
We can register to voice portal of Ring Back Tone and choose the song someone want to hear when he is calling us, of course before we pick up the phone.
First it becomes a trend and popular, so we can express and sounding off our favorite song to who calling us. Yeah lets rock !!!
Before we just hear the traditional ring backtone ( RBT) services from voice portal. Now,the calling party does not hear the traditional ring back tone, but a customized tone. The CRBT tone can be a song, music, or record. Yeap, the music which we recorded !
The CRBT subscriber can tailor a ring back tone for a specific subscriber or user group for announcement at a specific time through the Internet and special service calls.
RBT or CRBT can be provided based on the trigger point of node in Core Network such as SCP, VMSC, GMSC, or CRBT itself. Now I just discuss about CRBT provided by trigger by CRBT itself.
We can subscriber CRBT monthly or weekly based on CRBT services provided. The supplementary system must provide the way to subscriber through sending SMS to shortcode such as 888 to register in CRBT service. Beside that, registeration can be done by calling the voice portal 888 or in another way manually by registeration by customer service which use web application.
Network element
The network element hich support this service are HLR, MSC, SCP, SMSC, Voice Portal and RBT application. So how does it work ?
After a subscriber registered the CRBT service at the HLR, the MSC can obtain the subscription information from the HLR . It is through the location registration process, qualification request process and qualification directive process. The location registration with the CRBT active can be shown like this :
The MS ( Mobile Subscriber) sends a Location registration request to the serving MSC. The serving MSC / MSC A sends a REGNOT to the HLR to report the location of the MS. HLR returns a regnot to the MSC/VLR. Through the parameter Profile, the HLR informs the MSC/VLR of the information (CFIE) of the CRBT subscriber. The parameter RoutingDigits is used for routing to the CRBT system. And then the information is saved in the Database used by CRBT. The MSC sends a Location Registration Accept to the MS.
When the subscriber initial the call, HLR will identifies the called party as CRBT subscriber and transfers the CRBT mark to MSC. The MSC A ( original MSC ) routes the call to MSC B ( destination ) as usual. MSC A initiates another call leg to RBT platform who will play the Ring Back Tone. The caller hear the RBT during the waiting time ( call setup time ). When the called party pick up the phone, MSC A will disconnect the connection with RBT platform (RLT function). The caller and called part enjoy the conversation as normal.
But costumers dont need see that process, how dizzy !
They just register using SMS, voice portal, registered by customer service and charge based on their request. After that they can rock RBT based on song they choose ! So the telecom operator must update their list of RBT, besides marketing brand, it is also for trend and popularity of the operator !!

Please give me information about how the RBT server sent ringing(song) to A number as a caller.

dear arief, thanks for review it. I think the above articles can describe for the registeration of RBT. We just add a little flow between the registeration prosess and before the called party pick up the phone. In that time, ringing tone will be sent by RBT system.
May be in the next one i can write that .. : >
